Workplace Violence and Harassment prevention Policy 

 

Rohaya Group executive management team is committed to promoting a safe and healthy work environment for all of its employees- Including all internal and external employees, contractors, suppliers, visitors, and customers. Rohaya Group  will not accept any behaviour from anyone that intimidates, threatens, harasses, abuses, injures or otherwise victimizes our employees, and will take whatever steps deemed appropriate to best protect our employees from the risks associated with workplace violence and harassment.

 

Management’s Commitment

Management will take all reasonable precautions to protect employees from workplace violence and harassment, and will ensure employees are aware of their rights and responsibilities as it relates to them.

 

The management team will ensure that all concerns, allegations and incidents of workplace violence and harassment are investigated in a fair and timely manner, while respecting the employee’s privacy within reason. We will ensure risk assessments are completed to identify and control any risks related to workplace violence and harassment. The management team will also ensure that each assessment is in compliance with Rohaya Group policy on the Prevention of Workplace Violence & Harassment and the procedures in place.

 

Employee and Contractor Commitment

It is the responsibility of every employee/contractor to be aware of, and to follow, the procedures in place to protect them from workplace violence and harassment. Employees are required to immediately report all incidents of workplace violence and harassment to their direct supervisor or workplace violence coordinator. Employees will not be reprised against when acting in good faith and bringing forward a complaint or providing information regarding a complaint or incident of workplace violence or harassment.

 

Workplace harassment is defined as engaging in a course of vexatious comments/conduct against a worker in a workplace or a comment/conduct that is known or ought reasonably to be known to be unwelcomed.

 

Workplace Violence is defined as the exercise or attempt of physical force by a person against a fellow employee, in a workplace, that causes or could cause physical injury to the employee; and also, a statement/behavior that is reasonable for an employee to interpret as a threat to exercise physical force against the employee, in a workplace, that could cause physical injury to the worker.

 

This policy is not intended to limit or constrain the reasonable exercise of management functions in the workplace. Rohaya Group  expects every employee, at all levels of the company, to promote and comply with our workplace violence and harassment prevention policy and program. Rohaya Group will annually review its Workplace Violence & Harassment policy to ensure it is upholding all legislative requirements.
